AOB 5: EVALUATION

Unit 3 Evaluation:

The production process used for the music video was where we made the props out of cardboard we made the front of a car, steering wheel and a normal house door. The use of the green screen involved playing a motion video when the car is driving to make it look as though it is actually driving, also there was use for when Jasmine is walking across the screen in slow motion.

The team worked well in the group we were able to make the deadlines barely because of the fact our filming was delayed because of the loss of our storyboard the filming took longer than expected we were still able to make the deadlines because of the quick editing that was done we got the finished video in on time. We all took on different roles in the production where I took control gathering the information needed for the green screen and laying out the sets for the filming also collecting the camera equipment.

The time management for the film was we gave our filming time a week and the editing a week as well but our filming dragged on into our editing time so we had to leave less time for the editing even though there was a complication with the time we still managed to get the film finished on time. The communication between us was fairly good seeing that we were able to get the film out on time with out any complications other than the filming dragging out longer than expected even though it was able to get the film out on time the filming dragged out because of the times of filming colliding with out other lessons.

Our video can be easily spotted if you watch it and a properly produced video you can notice a lot of differences in the filming and the editing, the video you can notice the cuts and the problems but with a properly made one you can notice none of this. The proposal we showed got a lot of good feedback from the focus group we were given some ideas for the music video also got some kinks spotted before we started the recording.

The techniques used in the production for the video was black and white rolling clip to give it an, early 90’s feel to the video with a film grain also making the video look as though it was playing on a TV as the camera slow zooms in. The material used for the video was cardboard which was used to make the shapes of the sets needed we used green screens to fill in the background, the green screen was used for the driving footage and Jasmines walk. The end of the video we used a long fade as the set gets trashed by me and Jasmine then at the end of the video is a bit of a deleted scene.

The legal and ethical is about copyright there is no visual copyright to the original song there is only copyright in the audio because we were making the music video we had to use the song but changing the length of the video to make it longer than the song gave us a way past copyright also including the original video that we recorded cancels out the copyright infringement.
